Isla Tortuga
Today we're heading to Isla Tortuga, a private island in the Pacific. We’ll leave the house at 8:30 am to catch our boat at 10:00 am. Costa Cat Tours will serve us breakfast on the catamaran, we’ll ride across the bay, and relax on the beach before the included lunch. Calypso music sets the tone for this island paradise. Included is unlimited margaritas, snorkeling, a guided hike and a banana boat ride. We'll return to port at sunset and hope we see a whale. ($150 per person +tax)
Chino's Monkey Mangrove Tour
Tour the protected mangrove forest in the natural canals abord a small motorized tour boat (una lancha) or in a kayak. In this habitat you will find crocodiles, birds, snakes and, of course, their biggest attraction, monkeys. On the grounds you'll find an array of tropical plants such as heliconias, ginger, ferns, palm trees and guarumos in addition to a few native insects. The guides are fully bilingual with a good command of both Spanish and English. ($50 per person cash only)
Canopy Ziplining
Your canopy adventure on the longest twin zip line in Costa Rica includes an awesome tour, a delicious Costa Rican lunch, photography for additional cost, bilingual guides (Spanish and English), and round-trip transportation from your hotel or villa in the Manuel Antonio or Quepos area to the El Santuario property.
The adventure tour features Central America’s most impressive zip line at over 4,300 feet (yes over 8/10 of a mile!), 14 tree platforms, five hanging bridges, three nature walks, one double belay rappel, and 10 double-anchored zip lines, totaling over 3.6 kilometers in length. Chocolate Tour
The chocolate tour starts with the cultural and biological background of cacao in the world and here in Costa Rica. It further introduces you into the collecting, fermenting, grinding and finally the making of chocolate, the drink of the gods.
Secondly, we talk about coffee and its importance for Costa Rica’s economic and cultural development. We have a showroom with important coffee picking instruments and real producing plants to better explain the process of coffee production. We will show you how to make Café Chorreado, the real Costa Rican practice of preparing coffee.
Finally, we will look at one of the most important aspects of Costa Rican culture and tradition, the trapiche (mechanic sugarcane-mill). Here we grind sugar cane to extract the juice and make delicious cocktails. for sure the sweetest tour in the area. ($60 per person cash only)
Villa Vanilla Tour
Experience an organic spice farm, where you will use all of your senses to navigate the farm while identifying an interesting variety of spices such as our beloved vanilla, true Ceylon cinnamon, cacao, black pepper, allspice, turmeric and variety of exotic fruits and medicinal plants. Lucky guests may get a visit from the farm’s permanent inhabitants; such as hummingbirds, scarlet macaws, toucans and squirrel monkeys. No trip to Villa Vanilla is complete without a visit to our spice shop where visitors and chefs alike stock up on vanilla beans and extract, ceylon cinnamon, our tree-to-bar chocolate and other products grown on the farm to give as gifts or try in their own recipes! Deep Sea Fishing
Let's go fishing! Connie will take us aboard one of the boats from her fleet for a day of sport fishing from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm. Includes snack, beer, water, soda.

Whitewater Rafting
This adventurous, family-friendly, full-day trip on the Savegre River is a unique white water river rafting adventure with lots of perks. As the Manuel Antonio specialist, our world-class, internationally-trained, bilingual guides and safety kayakers will expertly guide and teach you how to navigate through this exciting river experience. After a “bumpy road” journey, we will make a stop at a typical Tico restaurant to order the food you want to eat for the included lunch after the tour.
The Savegre River provides Class II, III, and IV rapids that are manageable in sturdy rafts that accommodate 2 to 6 people comfortably. Our guides know the river in and out, so they will at some points give you the chance to jump in the water if you want to and just float with the river. Along the river, rafters will observe egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, king mackerels, cormorants, and many other species local to this protected area of the primary tropical rainforest. ($110 per person ivai)
Horseback Riding to a Waterfall
This tour takes you into the Tocorí Natural Reserve. Before we get on the horses, our guide, Gilberto, will take our lunch order (included), will tell us about medicinal plants grown on the property and we'll taste sugar cane juice from a working "trapiche." On our horses, we'll follow the river up to a waterfall where we can swim in the small water pools. We'll return to the farm for lunch after we put away the horses. ($75 cash)
ATV to Waterfall
Let’s get your adrenaline rush in the morning as you discover the real road in the middle of the mountain aboard a quad. At 10:30 am, we’ll meet guide from Safari Adventures who will take you on their private property to the waterfalls in the mountains. ($140 double/$110 single includes lunch)
Rainmaker Park
Rainmaker Park offers visitors a unique experience in one of the most biologically diverse rainforests in Costa Rica. A self-guided tour allows you to enjoy the flora and fauna at your own pace. Their hanging bridges, waterfalls, and trails give you a bird’s eye view of the lush surroundings with plenty of photo-ops. Don’t forget to bring a swimsuit as you’ll want to take a dip in the natural swimming pools. ($22 +tax per person)
