Paseo Manuel Antonio

This is a sample itinerary that is completely customizable. Fill out a Contact Form to talk about customizing your trip. Trips are based from our AirBnb home in Valle Pura Vida in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Here is a virtual tour on Google Maps.

Saturday(Day 1): Arrival at San José International Airport (SJO) Juan Santamaría. Transfer to the house, Villa Tiquicia (formerly Casa Sea Breeze). Dinner at Ronny's Place . Stop at the supermarket to get local money from the ATM and buy any groceries you may want for the house.

Sunday (Day 2): Let's see some wildlife. At Manuel Antonio National Park we'll see some nature up close with a local guide who can find the most camouflaged animals. At La Espadilla Beach we can just sit and relax or take a ride on a parasail and see the whale's tail from the air. Either way, the views are amazing. Hopefully, we'll see some white-face monkeys that frequent the trees behind the beach.

Monday (Day 3): Whitewater rafting on the Savegre River will get your adrenaline rush in the morning and in the afternoon we'll follow the adrenaline with some chocolate at the Manuel Antonio Chocolate tour of a working organic chocolate farm.

Tuesday (Day 4): Some more adrenaline in the morning. You may not even need that coffee, but we'll have some anyway.  We'll head towards the mountains for a Canopy Zipline Tour with El Santuario. Check out their link for more information on the Longest Zip Line in Costa Rica.

Wednesday (Day 5): Let's get to know some rural Costa Rica. Campesinos Eco Lodge Horseback riding with hanging bridges and waterfalls.

Thursday (Day 6): Today we're heading to Isla Tortuga (check out their video), a private island in the Pacific. We’ll leave the house at 8:00 am to catch our boat at 10:00 am. Costa Cat Tours will serve us breakfast on the catamaran, we’ll ride across the bay, and relax on the beach before the included lunch.  Calypso music sets the tone for this island paradise. Included is unlimited margaritas, snorkeling, a guided hike and a banana boat ride. We'll return to port at sunset and hope we see a whale.

Friday (Day 7): Thank God it's Friday. Let's take a day to sit by the pool and watch the animals around the house. You might see Scarlet Macaws, Toucans, the endandered Tití Monkeys, Black Iguanas or Agoutis among many others. After the gorgeous sunset over the Pacific, we can have movie night on the 152" Projection Screen with a bit of popcorn.

Saturday (Day 8): We pack our bags and return to the airport for our flights home.

A retired Spanish teacher from the United States, I now teach Spanish online and take people on tours of Costa Rica. Having studied at the Universidad de Costa Rica and lived with a host family, I gained a lot of knowledge about the culture, language and the sites to see.  I want to share that experience (see resume) with people who may want to travel, but who don't know how to begin. It's like traveling with a local who speaks English and Spanish!  You don't have to speak Spanish to travel with me, but it can enhance your experience. If you don't know any when we start, you will when we're done. Careful though; I might wear you out with fun!
